Gastrocnemius/Calf Muscle Strain

This injury is often caused by running fast. A muscle strain causes tenderness or a bulge, which is more common in the inner portion of the leg. Walking, climbing stairs or elevating the affected leg’s heel off the ground can worsen the pain.
